GENERAL AGRICULTURE AND PLANTATION WORKERS’ UNION OF ZIMBABWE
GAPWUZ is a membership based trade union formed by the farm workers in 1982 and was registered in 1985 and then certified in 1986. It represents the interests of the farm workers from all the sectors in the Agriculture industry.
GAPWUZ strives to achieve a vibrant agricultural industry in Zimbabwe where all workers are free from exploitative labour practices by empowering, protecting and advancing farm workers’ interests.
Mission Statement
To provide good quality and efficient service through empowering, protecting and advancing the living and working conditions of agricultural workers.
Vision
An Agriculture industry in Zimbabwe where all workers are free from all forms of exploitation, discrimination and victimization, where they enjoy good living and working conditions.
Mandate
To promote and protect farm workers’ rights and interests in the formal and informal agriculture industry including former members.

Major Accomplishments
- GAPWUZ has spearheaded for the crafting and registration of collective bargaining agreements that govern the agricultural sector industry.
- We have spearheaded for the crafting and the registration of a Collective Bargaining Agreement on Occupational Safety, Health and Environment. This code guides the Agricultural Industry on issues of safety and health.
- We have offices in regions across the country.
- We have policies that guide the union such as Climate Change and Environment Policy, Gender Policy etc
- We have trained many of our members on important aspects of labour laws as well as community health.
- We have knowledgeable staff members.
